THE PLAIN JANES ARE BACK AT THE EDMONTON FRINGE FESTIVAL WITH THE MUSICAL – BELLS ARE RINGING!
We are thrilled to be bringing this year’s gem of a musical – Bells Are Ringing
The Plain Janes are thrilled to be back after last year’s hit ‘Ankles Aweigh’ and with a directorial debut by Kate Ryan.
Show Description:
Bells Are Ringing is a gem of a musical involving Ella who works for ‘Susanswerphone’, a telephone answering service in New York City during the 1950’s. Events spiral as Ella gets involved with her clients lives and falls hard for playwright, Jeff Moss. An illegal Bookie operation ensues, even a singing dentist.
It’s how ‘Social Networking’ thrived before cell phones and answering machines!
Written by Musical Theatre legends Betty Comden and Adolph Green (Wonderful Town, On the Town) with music by Jule Styne (Gypsy, Funny Girl) .
Director: Kate Ryan
Music Director: Ryan Sigurdson
Choreography: Jason Hardwick
