About the Youth Performance Troupe

The Youth Performance Troupe
consists of young people (ages 10-18) from all over Edmonton with a desire and commitment to learn through performance.
They have been working with Maralyn and Kate Ryan and other theatre professionals building performance skills to entertain while learning about and serving the community.

YPT began in October, 2011 where the troupe met on consecutive Mondays to rehearse for a special performance raising awareness of The Edmonton’s Christmas Bureau in December, 2011. A Little Women’s Christmas performed to a sell out crowd and the troupe was able to raise $500.00 for the Edmonton’s Christmas Bureau.

We are very excited about the future of the troupe growing into an important part of our young peoples lives and the community!

All members of the troupe must go through an interview process with a letter from a teacher.
Please contact us for more information or if you would like to arrange an interview for your child.

Y.P.T. grew from the Northern Light Theatre’s Performance Camps held in August.

Maralyn Ryan is back again for another wonderful and exciting year of Performance Camps in August for children ages 6-9 and 10-16.
Great job to all the fine young actors from this past summer! They are amazing!

The camps will be held at the Glenora Community Hall nestled in the lovely central area of Edmonton.
